How can I make a reservation?

You can book directly on our website or contact us. That way, you can be sure of getting the best price.

Do you have connecting rooms?

At the moment we do not have connecting rooms. The family room “Terre Eternelle” consists of two separated rooms but is rented as a unit.

Are the rooms accessible to people with reduced mobility?

Personally, we wouldn’t recommend it. The street we live on is quite steep and all our rooms were on the second floor.

Can I request an extra bed/baby cot in a room?

Unfortunately we do not offer extra beds. The maximum number of occupants (>3 years) is specified in the description of each room. We have some baby cots available, subject to availability. This equipment can be booked at the same time as the room. This service is free of charge.

Can we bring our pets?

We have pets of our own and will be happy to welcome yours after consultation.

Where to begin? Going green? Sports activities? Culture? We’re not the boastful kind, but when it comes down to all the different possibilities, the surrounding area is just plentiful. In the end it’s all up to you! But don’t worry, we’ll be more than happy to guide you through. Start exploring right here and enjoy your virtual visit.

The abundance of trails and impressive views make this region a paradise for hikers, cyclists and horse-riding enthusiasts. Among them the « Chemin des Bonshommes » (GR107), which runs along our doorstep, as well as the « Sentier Cathare » (GR367) and the « Route des Cols », well known from the Tour de France, just a short distance from the village. Whatever type of trail you prefer, there’ s something for everyone. No worries, the little ones will love to be accompanied by donkey.

If you’re looking for adventure, you’ve come to the right place! No need to be a daredevil to experience the thrill of climbing, canyoning or caving. Whether you like idyllic fresh water or white water rapids, you’ll find what you’re looking for in the lakes and rivers of the Ariège and the Aude! From swimming to rafting over pedal boats, there is something for everyone.

During the winter season there’s plenty to do around here! Just around the corner you will be served at will with the authentic family ski resort of « Camurac », as well as the Nordic area of the « Col de Chioula », with both cross-country ski and snowshoeing trails. For real ski fanatics there is « Ax 3 Domaines » a little further away, or even « Gran Valira » in Andorra. Alternatively, there are numerous toboggan runs or the possibility to go dog sledding.

Come and witness the colourful spectacle of nature, where each season is unique in its own way. Of course, there are also many animal species, some of which are found exclusively in the Pyrenees. In addition, the region is home to numerous gorges, such as the impressive « Gorges de la Frau », or caves that are well worth a visit! Without a doubt you’ve heard of the « Grotte de Niaux » or the « Grotte de Lombrives ». Finally, you have the option to recharge your batteries in one of the thermal baths.

It’s beyond denying that the Cathars had a great influence in this mountainous region. It was here that this « heretical » religion developed into a real popular culture. This is evidenced by the many castles, such as « Montségur » and « Puilaurens », which offered refuge during their persecution. Last but not least, there is Montaillou: our little village which is known worldwide as one of the last bastions and renaissance sites of the Cathars. Intrigued? Here’s a glimpse of its history.

Visit one of the many remains of ancient castles including Puivert, Roquefixade and Lagarde. Or visit one of the historic centres such as Mirepoix, Foix and Carcassonne. Make sure that you don’t miss out on the buzzing atmosphere of one of the various local markets with its regional and artisanal specialities. Just as good to know is that Occitania is the largest wine-growing region in France. Finally, only an hour’s drive away, you can go duty-free shopping at Pas de la Casa in Andorra!

Besides a hike with a donkey, there are several alternatives to bring joy to families with children. Taste the adventure at « Akrobranch Orlu » or during a race in a « Devalkart ». Get to know the animals at « La Maison des Loups », explore the forgotten world in the dinosaur parks or discover the daily life of our ancestors in the « Parc de Préhistoire », the « Forges de Pyrène » and in the medieval setting of « Château Chalabre ». There are simply too many things to list!

Camuraquette

In February, you’re invited by the ski resort of Camurac. On the programme: a snowshoe walk in all simplicity. Nothing better to enjoy the magic of the winter landscape!

 Transhumance

In spring time, farmers migrate their animals from the lower valleys to the mountain pastures where they’ll remain until autumn. This is the ideal occasion to immerse yourself in the cultural heritage of the region!

Foire du Pays d’Aillou

The fair of the Pays d’Aillou, is the unmissable event of Whit Monday! Renowned from near and far, it is above all a meeting of producers, breeders, craftsmen and local creators, with the emphasis of course on regional products. Up to you to discover everything!

Tour de France

Every year the Pyrenees form the decor for some crucial stages of the Tour de France. Witness the spectacle from close by on the many ‘cols’ and support your favourite riders!

Fête de Montaillou

Come and enjoy the fêtes locales in the Pyrenean villages! In the summer there are some every week, but the one in Montaillou is surely not to be missed. Two days of animation and music precede the climax of August 15, which ends with a truly breath-taking firework!
